This mineral UV filters-only, oil-in-water, broad spectrum sunscreen cream uses SolaStay® S1 to mitigate the photocatalytic and reactive oxygen species-generating activities of the oxides.
The formulated cream was subjected to in vitro analysis and delivered SPF ~55, PFA (PPD) ~19 performance with critical wavelength 377 nm.

1 | To a secondary vessel add phase A, start mixing, add phase B and heat to 80°C. |
2 | Add phase C to phase AB, mix well until newly added items are dissolved and then homogenize for 3 minutes. |
3 | To the main vessel add phase D, start mixing and add phase E items in order. |
4 | When solids of phase E are fully incorporated, heat phase DE to 75°C. |
5 | When both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, slowly add phase ABC to phase DE with prop mixing. |
6 | After 5 minutes start cooling batch and when batch is below 50°C add phase F items one by one with mixing. |
7 | Add Phase G if the batch is too thin. |
8 | Continue mixing until batch is at room temperature, replacing any water lost to evaporation and mixing until smooth. |
