This water-in-oil zinc oxide sunscreen lotion provides SPF 30 sun protection without using organic UV filters. HallBrite® BHB (Butyloctyl Salicylate) in HallBrite® EZ-FLO ZDX contributes a very good dispersion for zinc oxide.
In vitro analysis suggests SPF ~ 34, PFA (PPD) ~10, performance with critical wavelength 375 nm.

| 1 | To the main Vessel, add phase A and start mixing. Add phase B with mixing. Start heat to 75°C. |
| 2 | Add phase C into phase AB, and mix well until uniform. |
| 3 | To a secondary vessel add phase D, start mixing until fully incorporated. Heat up to 70°C. |
| 4 | When both phases are homogenous at their designated temperature, Start homogenizing phase ABC. |
| 5 | Very slowly add phase D to phase ABC. |
| 6 | Start to cool to room temperature. When < 50°C, add phase E into phase ABCD. |
