Natural Sunscreen Lotion SPF 55 PFA 21

A broad spectrum (SPF/PFA ≤3), natural (mineral UV filters only) sunscreen lotion. SolaStay® S1 is incorporated to mitigate the photocatalytic and reactive oxygen species generating activities of the oxides. The product was subjected to in vitro analysis and delivered SPF ~55, PFA (PPD) ~21 performance with critical wavelength 377 nm.

PREPARATIVE PROCEDURE

1To a secondary vessel add phase A, start mixing, disperse phase B in phase A and then heat phase AB to 80°C.
2Add phase C to phase AB, mix well until phase C is dissolved, and then homogenize for 3 minutes.
3To the main vessel add the Water of phase D, start mixing, add the Disodium EDTA, then add the Xanthan Gum and when fully incorporated heat phase D to 75°C.
4When both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, slowly add oil phase ABC to water phase D with prop mixing.
5After 5 minutes start cooling. Add the premix of phase E when the batch is below 50°C.
6When the batch is at room temperature, replace any water lost to evaporation and continue mixing until smooth.
