This formulation was designed to provide broad spectrum (SPF/PFA ≤3) performance. SolaStay® S1 (Ethylhexyl Methoxycrylene) in HallBrite® EZ-FLO TDX Plus and HallBrite® ISO mitigate the photocatalytic and reactive oxygen species generating activities of Titanium Dioxide and extremely rapidly and efficiently quench the excited states of Avobenzone, protecting it from photodegradation and so improve sunscreen performance. HallBrite® BHB in HallBrite® EZ-FLO TDX Plus aids wetting and dispersion of the Titanium Dioxide and contributes to UV filter solubility and enhanced product feel. One person in vivo testing yielded static SPF 40, PFA 19 in a US lab, SPF 48.4, PFA 16 in a Korean lab. In vitro SPF 45, PFA 16 with critical wavelength 380 nm.

1 | To a secondary vessel add phase A, start mixing and disperse phase B in phase A with continue mixing. |
2 | Heat phase AB to 85°C, add phase C with mixing, then add phase D, mixing until dissolved. |
3 | Add Water and Glycerin of phase E to the main vessel, dissolve EDTA with mixing and then add Xanthan Gum, stirring until fully incorporated. |
4 | Heat phase E to 80°C and when both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, slowly add oil phase ABCD to water phase E with prop mixing. Homogenize batch for 3 minutes, resume prop mixing, and start cooling to room temperature. |
5 | When batch is < 40°C, add phase F ingredients one by one with mixing. Replace any water lost to evaporation and mix until smooth. |
