This broad spectrum sunscreen lotion uses extremely rapid excited state quencher SolaStay® S1 for the photstabilization of Avobenzone and Octinoxate and inhibition of the photocatalytic and reactive oxygen species generating capacity of Titanium Dioxide. The formula was subjected to in vitro analysis and delivered SPF ~ 55, PFA (PPD) ~ 26 performance with critical wavelength 381 nm.

1 | To a secondary vessel add phase A, start mixing and slowly add phase B components individually to phase A with continued mixing. |
2 | Heat phase AB to 85°C and then add phase C ingredients with mixing. Add phase D to phase ABC and mix until phase D is fully dissolved. |
3 | To the main vessel add the Water of phase E, start mixing, add the Disodium EDTA, then add the Pemulen® TR-2, and heat this phase to 80°C. |
4 | When both phases ABCD and E are homogeneous and at designated temperatures, slowly add phase ABCD to phase E with mixing. |
5 | Start homogenizing intensively for 3 minutes and start cooling. When the batch is at 55°C, add phase F. |
6 | Stop homogenizing and resume sweep mixing. Add phase G to batch as a premix, mix well, and then add phase H. |
7 | When the batch is uniform add deionized water to correct for evaporative losses. Continue mixing until smooth. |
