Oh Wow! 50 Cream – Broad Spectrum O-W SPF 50 Mineral Sunscreen

This mineral UV filters-only, oil-in-water, broad spectrum sunscreen cream uses SolaStay® S1 to mitigate the photocatalytic and reactive oxygen species-generating activities of the oxides.

The formulated cream was subjected to in vitro analysis and delivered SPF ~55, PFA (PPD) ~19 performance with critical wavelength 377 nm.

PREPARATIVE PROCEDURE

1To a secondary vessel add phase A, start mixing, add phase B and heat to 80°C.
2Add phase C to phase AB, mix well until newly added items are dissolved and then homogenize for 3 minutes.
3To the main vessel add phase D, start mixing and add phase E items in order.
4When solids of phase E are fully incorporated, heat phase DE to 75°C.
5When both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, slowly add phase ABC to phase DE with prop mixing.
6After 5 minutes start cooling batch and when batch is below 50°C add phase F items one by one with mixing.
7Add Phase G if the batch is too thin.
8Continue mixing until batch is at room temperature, replacing any water lost to evaporation and mixing until smooth.
