Oil-in-Water Mineral Sunscreen Cream SPF 50

This natural (mineral UV filters only) oil-in-water global sunscreen cream formulation was designed to provide broad spectrum (SPF/PFA ≤3) label SPF 50 performance. HallBrite® BHB (Butyloctyl Salicylate) in HallBrite® EZ-FLO TDX, in combination with Biochemica® Bio Vera Aloe Oil, Biochemica® Avocado Butter, and Biochemica® Shea Butter, enhances product feel. It was subjected to in vitro analysis and delivered SPF ~53, PFA (PPD) ~18 performance with critical wavelength 375 nm.

PREPARATIVE PROCEDURE

1To a secondary vessel add phase A and start mixing, add phase B and heat to 80°C.
2Add phase C into phase AB, mixing well until all are dissolved, and then homogenize for 3 minutes.
3To the main vessel add the Water and Glycerin of phase D, start mixing and add remaining phase items in order.
4When solids of phase D are fully incorporated, heat phase to 75°C.
5When both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, slowly add phase ABC to phase D with prop mixing.
6When both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, slowly add phase ABC to phase D with prop mixing.
7Continue mixing until batch is at room temperature, replacing any water lost to evaporation and mixing until smooth.
