HallBrite® BHB (Butyloctyl Salicylate) in HallBrite® EZ-FLO TDX and in HallBrite® EZ-FLO TDX Plus contributes to UV filter solubility and enhances product feel.
This formulation was subjected to in vitro analysis and delivered SPF ~40 (30), PFA (PPD) ~17 performance with critical wavelength 380 nm.

1 | To a secondary vessel add phase A, start mixing, slowly add phase B, heat to 85°C and then add phase C items in order. |
2 | When phase ABC is homogeneous add phase D items to it and continue mixing until dissolved. |
3 | To the main vessel add phase E, start mixing and add phase F items in order. |
4 | When solids of phase F are fully incorporated, heat phase EF to 80°C. |
5 | When both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, slowly add phase ABCD to phase EF with prop mixing. |
6 | After 2 minutes mixing, homogenize batch for 3 minutes and then resume prop mixing and start cooling batch. |
7 | When batch is below 50°C add phase G ingredients one by one with mixing. |
8 | Continue mixing until batch is at room temperature, replacing any water lost to evaporation and mixing until smooth. |
