This sunscreen spray lotion formulation was designed to provide superior broad spectrum (SPF/PFA <<3) label SPF 40 performance. SolaStay® S1 provides very rapid and efficient excited state quenching of Avobenzone, protecting it from photodegradation. HallBrite® BHB contributes to UV filter solubility and enhances product feel. This formulation was subjected to in vitro analysis and delivered SPF ~40 , PFA (PPD) ~20 performance with critical wavelength 380 nm.

| Add phase A to the secondary vessel, start mixing, add phase B, start heating phase AB to 70°C and add, in order, phase C ingredients. |
| Add water of phase D into main vessel, dissolve Disodium EDTA and, with continued mixing, add Xanthan Gum. |
| When Xanthan Gum is fully incorporated start heating phase D to 70°C, add preblended phase E and then add phase F solution of pH 7.5-8.0. |
| When both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, add oil phase ABC to water phase DEF with prop mixing. |
| After mixing combined phases for 5 minutes, start cooling and homogenize until the batch reaches 55°C. |
| Resume prop and sweep mixing of batch with continued cooling. |
| When batch is 50°C or lower, very slowly add previously prepared phase G (so it is a fully hydrated solution) and continue mixing for 20 minutes. |
| Replace any water lost to evaporation, mix batch until smooth and perform quality assurance checks. |
